Spinal Surgery for International Patients Continues to Improve
If you’re among the numerous individuals that have dealt with strong back pain, you may have considered whether spinal surgery can provide some relief. Trauma, aging, these are two of many factors that can cause abnormalities in the spine, resulting in chronic back pain or symptoms such as numbness or weakness in the limbs. These symptoms may indicate a serious spinal condition which may require surgery.
Spine surgery is typically performed as open surgery which involves making a long incision in order for a physician access the spine. However, this type of surgery is largely being phased out in favor of minimally invasive spine surgery which does not involve making long incisions and can significantly reduce recovery time while providing potentially better international patient outcomes.
Dr. Susheel Wadhwa at Health City Cayman Islands continues his goal of researching and perfecting techniques in improving minimally invasive spine surgery. He has performed hundreds of surgeries on the spine as well as the brain independently and he has also contributed his knowledge and skills to thousands of complex surgeries since 2007. Dr. Susheel is currently a consultant in the Department of Neurosurgery.
